Heather and Joe met a couple of weeks into their freshman year at Penn State. They first met in an elevator, then at a football game and eventually in the laundry room in their dorm. Heather thought Joe was pretty good looking so she said, “Since we keep running into each other, why don’t we get together on purpose?”
And get together they did. They dated their entire time in college and have continued dating until they decided that it was time to get engaged. This is where we come in.
We are so excited that Heather and Joe have hired us to be their photographers – for their engagement session and for their fabulous Penn State wedding! They are not only smart, thoughtful, and cute together, but also lots of fun to be with. We actually ended up taking a little more time than planned on their engagement session because we were having such a great time!
They wanted to take their engagement photos on the campus of the Pennsylvania State University because of all the special memories it holds for them. I recommended doing their photography in the morning with the first light. We met at the gates and they were waiting there for me with cup of hot tea from my favorite bagel shop.
Joe teaches English at the college level, so it was only appropriate to take some of their photographs with books and in the stacks at the Paterno library.
As we parted, Heather told me that she felt like she had known me for a long time. It works like that sometimes and I am always grateful for the ability we have to connect with our clients through our cameras and conversation. Heather and Joe are the kind of people who would make great friends. I am thankful for the morning that we got to spend together trekking around the Penn State campus, reliving memories of our times spent there and look forward to their wedding in the spring.
I’ll end with one of my favorite photos from the day. It was taken at Old Main, which you can see peaking over the trees in the top right. This is one I want to hang on our walls.
