I love photographing weddings because it is a day that you will never forget. It is one of the biggest days in a person’s life and there are so many great moments to photograph. Emotions are running high, everyone looks their best, the traditions are perfect and the family is all together.
My work has been shown in galleries from State College to San Diego. I am thrilled to be a sought after speaker and teacher and I bring my photographic expertise and artistic style to every session that I shoot. My style is very candid and photojournalistic, yet I have a distinctive fine art flair to my photographs.
I have taught photography at Penn State University, The Grier School for Girls and Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA. I currently teach my own workshops for beginner, intermediate and advanced photography students. I am also my children’ teacher.
Be warned, I usually get goose bumps when talking to soon-to-be brides about their weddings. I tear up during every wedding ceremony and again when editing the photos after the wedding. I am just a hopeless romantic when it comes to life’s big moments.
I love to watch football, prefer tea to coffee (though flavored coffees are growing on me) and adore chocolate.
I’m Steve and I love Tera. I also love photography. My lifelong passion of creating pictures lead me to my wife. We met while taking a photography class at Penn State, University Park and we both helped run the photo lab in college. We competed for the big scholarship back then (she won the first year, I won the second) and now we have a friendly competition to see who takes the best photograph of each wedding (I win more than Tera likes to admit).
As a trained illustrator, I am able to capture the details of your wedding with my camera as your story unfolds. My job on wedding day is to be the groom’s photographer before the ceremony and then to capture the ceremony at complimentary angles to Tera’s work. I also focus on details, family members and unique shots while Tera captures all of the memorable wedding traditions. My style is very clean and modern.
I have a masters certificate in web design and layout and am in the process of becoming an Adobe certified expert in Photoshop. Photoshop is the program I use to put the finishing touches on your wedding photos. I am a master at retouching photographs, including skin, which makes many brides very happy.
I also love watching football, prefer coffee to tea and enjoy kayaking.
